Matthew is a qualified financial adviser holding the Diploma in Financial Advice from the London Institute of Banking and Finance. He is a proud member of the Institute of Financial Services - a mark of his commitment to professional excellence, giving clients the confidence that their finances are in expert hands.
Matthew's career in financial services spans nearly three decades, beginning in 1996 and leading to his appointment as an independent financial adviser just a year later. Matthew co-founded Throgmorton in 2002 and has led the firm as Managing Director since 2005. Balancing strategic leadership of the firm with hands-on client advice, Matthew brings both entrepreneurial vision and deep personal expertise to every client relationship - a rare combination of leader and trusted adviser.
As Managing Director, Matthew oversees the firm's day-to-day operations, provides governance to the Compliance Department, and serves on the Investment Committee.
Matthew is a dedicated and experienced adviser. He specialises in investment management and tax mitigation - with particular expertise in Inheritance Tax planning and trust planning structures - and his insight in these areas has earned him recognition in the national press, where he has been published multiple times on both subjects. He is trusted by a loyal client base that includes many individuals at or approaching retirement, to whom he delivers a highly personalised, long-term service shaped entirely around their individual needs. He also brings specialist knowledge to corporate clients seeking expert guidance on employee benefits and workplace pensions, with a notable specialism in the maritime sector.
Away from the office, Matthew enjoys a full life with his wife. An active sportsman, he can be found on the golf course, the ski slopes, or at the clay pigeon range, while quieter moments are spent walking, reading, and exploring new destinations, particularly around his second home in Granada, Spain - always, ideally, with a well-chosen glass of wine to hand.
