Many of our clients have personal and business risks and assets inextricably intertwined through partnership shares or holdings in businesses.

We advise our corporate clients about all areas of finance, including pension plans and employee benefit schemes, the investment of company money, finance, protecting the business and its owners against financial risks and succession planning.

Pensions
The new stakeholder legislation marks a radical departure from previous pension provisions. For the first time, the government has introduced compulsion for employers, in that they must now play a key role in offering pensions to their staff. This places a heavy responsibility on a firm and can entail a significant commitment of time and money.

There are several choices. Whether your company already operates a scheme or you are staring one for the first time, it is essential that you obtain the best value for money and that your employees appreciate the major benefit that a pension represents.

Protection
The concept of ‘risk management’ applies to all businesses. The financial implications of an unforeseen event can be devastating and may mean the difference between success or failure.

For example, consider how the death or illness of a key employee upon whom the business relies, would impact upon your company? Would it affect profitability if they were off work for an extended period of time? Could you afford to continue their employment, whilst you were paying someone else to do the work? Would the death of a major share holder affect you? Normally their shares will be passed to their heirs under the terms of their will? Does this mean that you could find yourself in business with somebody who has no knowledge of and less interest in, the workings of your firm.

These events and many others can be addressed with the right planning. Our corporate advisers have a wealth of experience in all types of company pension scheme and protection plans. They will work closely with you to find the best arrangement for your circumstances. Our aim is to safe guard your financial interests without constraining the flexibility or profitability of your firm.
